In the ‘Theatre of Time’ series I wanted to explore further the idea of time. A monoprinted sky suggesting the subtle changes of clouds over minutes, the shadows, capturing the passing of hours, cast by monumental stones that have stood in the same spot for thousands of years.

The Stanton Drew stone circles, shown in this work, are a stage for ritual and have witnessed the story of countless generations play out around them over the centuries. However, as permanent as the monument appears in the landscape, it is changing, constantly eroded by nature, stones have fallen and been removed, destroyed, or repurposed. The divided panorama represents the now fractured ritual landscape and shadows from unseen stones still suggest their presence.
